Kids of Steele

Kids of Steele is a group of children and their families who have banded together to help improve today's care and tomorrow's cure for the children of Arizona and, ultimately, the world. Through various activities, Kids of Steele will raise awareness and funds for the UA Steele Children's Research Center. The group also provides children with a wonderful opportunity to learn about service and giving back to their community.

Steele Children’s Research Center

Steele Children’s Research Center at University of Arizona is the only center in Arizona where physicians and scientists work together to care for children and conduct research in pediatric diseases. Their mission is to teach future doctors and researchers, to heal their pediatric patients, and to discover better treatments and cures for pediatric diseases and illnesses.

Dr. Fayez K. Ghishan

Dr. Ghishan is known for many things, but to the Feder family, he is mostly know as Alexis’ doctor. Alexis was diagnosed with Celiac disease about 4 years ago. Dr. Ghishan has been her doctor since the diagnosis. But besides being Alexis’ doctor, he leads the Steele Center and is internationally recognized for his research in pediatric gastroenterology and nutrition. He is a wonderful, caring and knowledgeable man.

This year’s donations to the Steele Center will be targeted to Type 1 Diabetes (formerly known as Juvenile Diabetes).
