What should I wear?
You are welcome to wear whatever you like. Some people are in shorts, most are in jeans. Feel free to wear colors of the team you are supporting. We have never had a fight break out, not even between opposing fans.
How much should I donate to this year's charity recipient?
It is NOT mandatory that you donate anything. We started putting the box out in 1998 for those who want to help. The party is for our friends. We have been fortunate in our lives, and we thought this was a nice way to help out wonderful charities.
How much of my donation goes to the charity?
100%. Nothing is used for the party. Everything that is put in the donation box goes directly to the charity that is selected for this year's event. If you are thinking about donating money, we suggest writing a check to put in the donation box. This way, the charity will send a tax-deductible receipt directly to you. We have also requested that any charity we select, keep any of our guests off their mailing list.
Where do I park?
Parking can be found at Bedroxx Bowling. There is plenty of parking in the front, along the sides and the back of the bowling alley.
Can I bring my kids?
Absolutely! This is a party that everyone will enjoy. If you are bringing small kids, please remember that they are your responsibility. This is a BIG party; there will be close to 1000 people there. Our guests tend to be very well mannered, but it still is a big crowd.
What time is the party?
The party starts at 2:00pm. If you arrive earlier than that, expect to see us setting up and running around like chickens with our heads cut off. The kick off is 4:30pm Tucson time.
Is there anything I can do to help?
Yes, come and have fun. It is a great time, and we guarantee you will know people there.
Will childcare be provided?
Again, we encourage you to bring your kids, however we do NOT provide child care. (See “Can I bring my kids?” above)
Can I actually watch the game?
Yes, there are TVs everywhere, mounted high. You can see them from the food buffets, snack tables and the stadium chairs. (See Party Trivia for number of seats and locations)
So what does Brad really do, anyway?
You might remember that Brad used to be with RightFax? After selling that company, Brad and his accomplice Joe Cracchiolo partnered with Mike Bernstein to grow a local internet service provider Simply Bits. Ever heard the term “broadband” and wonder what the heck it is? Well, it’s a way to quickly transmit lots of electronic data, and Brad has TONS of broadband in Tucson. Along with providing blazing fast internet connections for homes and businesses, Simply Bits also carries very fancy business phones (state-of-the-art, actually). A term you’ll be hearing more of soon is VOIP or voice-over-internet – it’s the future of phone systems that increases functionality and mobility. Your phone will soon be just another device on your computer network and Brad, Joe and Mike make it easy to get started! Simply Bits can also create hotspots – places where folks can wirelessly connect to the Internet. Next time you’re at a restaurant, a coffee shop, or a downtown at the court house, log on to the Internet with your laptop – chances are you’re surfing courtesy of one of Brad’s company’s technologies.
Brad is also involved with Nextrio, Tucson’s #1 computer consulting firm. With the help of Bill and Cristie Street (friends and former co-workers at RightFax), Nextrio is celebrating its 9th year of helping Tucson’s businesses with all their IT needs. Whether it’s networking computers and servers together, troubleshooting pesky problems, or consulting on new applications, Nextrio is “extra-strength Tylenol for a company’s computer system headaches”. Whatever your information technology needs, Nextrio does it.
Pretty cool, huh? And you thought he just wandered around the offices at 5225 Sabino Canyon Road. all day telling bad jokes! …Well, he does some of that, too – but now you know the rest of the story!
